Rudoy, Minnoy are Class A All-Staters

Mike Rudoy of Chicago Latin and Nate Minnoy of Hales Franciscan were the only Chicago-area representatives on the Associated Press Class A All-State Basketball team.

Rudoy, a 6-foot-7-inch senior who was a first-team selection, averaged 23 points and was the leading scorer for Chicago Latin. He had 39 points in a 68-61 loss to Driscoll in the sectional finals. Minnoy, a 6-3 sophomore, was picked on the third team.

Robinson's Nick Brooks, a 6-6 senior who will play at Butler next season, averaged 23.6 points and 7.1 boards rebounds this year. He was named to the first team as a junior last year; he was a unanimous choice this season, the only one on the team, which is voted on by sportswriters and broadcasters. He was joined on the first team by Nick Hill of DuQuoin, Jeremy Haas of Mount Carroll, Keith Long of Madison and Rudoy.

Hill, a 6-4 senior, averaged 22 points for DuQuoin and scored a season-high 36 points in a win over Nashville that clinched the conference title for the Indians. Hill was named to the second team last year and will play at Western Kentucky next season.

Haas, a 6-5 senior, was the leading scorer for No. 2 Mt. Carroll and averaged 24 points and eight rebounds. He had 28 points in the Hawks' 61-48 win over Rock Falls in the sectional championship.

Long, a 6-6 senior, averaged 14 points and 12 rebounds for Madison, which finished the regular season ranked No. 1.

Heading the second team was Zak Allan, a 6-3 senior from Gillespie who was an honorable mention selection as a junior. Joining Allan on the second team were Chris Bochtler of Effingham St. Anthony, Tim Parish of Nauvoo-Colusa, Kyle Hines of Carrier Mills and Brandon Childs of Cairo.

The third team included Minoy, Robbie Minor of Rock Falls, Byron Graven of Auburn, Jordan Powell of Springfield Calvary and Tyson Schnitker of Robinson.
