Mary Arey has joined IFF as director of compliance and investor programs. She will oversee all financial planning, accounting, cash management, investments, audit and fiscal operations for the community development financial institution that serves Midwest nonprofits. Arey,51, comes to IFF from Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, where she was manager of Affordable Housing and Community Development. There, she consulted with developers, investors, lenders and communities to underwrite, structure and submit applications for Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Loan Financing, New Markets Tax Credits and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding. Before that, she was a principal at Housing and Development Services and held various positions with the Illinois Housing Development Authority. She has an MBA from the University of Chicago.
