Exelon Corp. has promoted Sunil Sonny Garg to president of Exelon Power Starting Aug. 16. Garg, former senior vice president of human resources, will head the division that operates the companys 105 fossil, hydroelectric and renewable generating units in Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Texas. Garg also will be responsible for expanding the division's portfolio, including renewable energy. Before joining Exelon in 2002, Garg was an assistant to Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and a White House Fellow appointed by President Bill Clinton. He also was an associate with the Chapin Hall Center for Children at the University of Chicago, a research and development center focused on education. Garg has a bachelors degree and an MBA from the University of Chicago and a masters degree in public policy from Harvard University.
