Cheryl L. Reed has been promoted to assistant director of publications at the University of Chicago Medical Center where she is the executive and managing editor of the magazine Medicine on the Midway, as well as five other publications. She is the author of Unveiled: The Hidden Lives of Nuns, a narrative nonfiction book about her four years traveling the country interviewing nuns. She is currently writing a novel set in Chicago during the recent presidential election. Reed is a former editorial page editor, books editor and investigative reporter at the Chicago Sun-Times and previously a staff writer at several others newspapers. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and earned her masters degree in journalism from the Ohio State University.
