Dr. Clyde Yancy is joining the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University as Magerstadt professor of medicine and chief of cardiology. Yancy, a past president of the American Heart Association and former medical director of the Baylor Heart and Vascular Institute and former chief of cardiothoracic transplantation at Baylor University Medical Center, also will become associate director of the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Yancy received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. He completed a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he directed the heart-transplant program and led the institution's heart-failure program.
