Brett Bachtell has been promoted to partner in the Chicago office of McDermott Will & Emery LLP. He focuses his practice on intellectual property counseling, prosecution and litigation. Bachtell has represented clients before the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) and federal district courts involving a variety of technologies including semiconductor chip packaging, wireless communications, internet security, mechanical devices and business methods. Bachtell also regularly prosecutes trademark applications and patent applications in a variety of technologies. He has prosecution experience in the fields of computer hardware and software, digital and analog circuits, digital communications and medical devices. Bachtell holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a law degree from DePaul University College of Law.
