Dr. Vesna Pirec has been named chief medical director of Insight Behavioral Health Centers. She will oversee protocol for the mental health organization and develop programming for Insight's women's reproductive mental health program. Pirec was previously Program Director of the women's mental health program in the department of psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Pirec has extensive experience with behavioral health issues specific to reproductive cycles in women, such as perinatal mental health disorders as well as mental health disorders developing in perimenopause. She also has authored several textbook chapters and articles and is a board member of the North American Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as a member of the Marce Society for Perinatal Mental Health, the American Psychiatric Association and the Illinois Psychiatric Society.
