Benjamin P. Shapiro has been named practice group manager of the banking and financial services group at the Roetzel law firm. He is based in the firm's Chicago office. Shapiro focuses his practice on banking and finance, and business and commercial litigation. He has represented financial institution clients in a wide variety of matters, including the organization of banks, representation of buyers and sellers in bank sales and merger transactions, troubled banks before regulatory agencies, and the negotiation of regulatory enforcement actions. Before entering into corporate practice, Shapiro served as regional chief legal counsel for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
