( Reuters/Thomas Mukoya ) Chicago-based Boeing Co. celebrated the delivery of its first 787 Dreamliner to All Nippon Airways, three years behind schedule because of development problems. The fuel-efficient airplane can't come soon enough, as the industry continues to struggle with high fuel costs and tepid demand. AMR Corp., the parent of American Airlines, declared bankruptcy in an effort to cut labor costs and shed debt, something its competitors, including United Airlines, did earlier this decade. |
