Our name stands for "Read, eat and discuss" or "Read, eat and dine."
We meet in a restaurant in Tinley Park rather than in members' homes.
Members bring friends, sisters, and mothers. We do not have a set group, which brings different viewpoints to our discussions.
We take several field trips each year. For example, when we read "Seabiscuit" by Laura Hillenbrand, we met at Balmoral Park racetrack in a private suite, had dinner, bet on the races and discussed the book.
We'd most like to meet Elizabeth Berg because she seems as if she would be very comfortable to be with; we like her characters because they seem like real people. Plus, she lives in Chicago and might actually come to our meeting!
