Timothy Peters has been named a senior vice president in Edelman Chicagos corporate affairs practice. Peters comes to Edelman from Allianceworks Group LLC, a public affairs consultancy he founded that specializes in issues management, advocacy and communications strategies for clients including Cargill and the National Dairy Council. Before that, he hel helped develop McDonald's public affairs department as senior director of Global Stakeholder Engagement and of Corporate Citizenship and Issues Management. He also held legislative and political roles for former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.), U.S. Rep Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) and U.S. Rep. Robin Hayes (R-N.C.). Peters received a bachelors degree in secondary education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a bachelors degree in agricultural economics at Kansas State University.
