Eat this: La Bazza bowl at Flying Saucer

La Bazza bowl: In Humboldt Park, the Flying Saucer restaurant is a cozy hideaway of comfort food bliss. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the service is impeccable and the hot meals divine. The adorable '50s-style diner boasts an array of vegan and vegetarian options alongside its gloriously organic meat and eggs, but the most scrumptious and satisfying dish of all is the La Bazza Bowl. Described on the menu as "simply the 'rolls royce' of vegetarian breakfast options," this hearty vessel is filled to the brim with brown rice and topped with a heap of delicious mix-ins: eggs, black beans, tofu, kale, chihuahua cheese, sour cream, mixed sauteed veggies and pico de gallo. Served with warm corn tortillas for making mini breakfast burritos on the side, this seemingly never-ending delight is also a weekend brunch enthusiast's best bet. 1123 N.
