A Des Plaines condominium building in the 500 block of South River Road was burgled for the second time in as many weeks, according to Des Plaines police.
Surveillance video taken inside the building in the early morning hours of June 2 show a man wearing dark clothing taking several items – including a Wii game console and stereo equipment – from the lobby of the building, authorities said. The video shows the man later was accompanied by a woman, also dressed in dark clothing and wearing a face mask. Police said two TVs and a Keurig coffee maker wrapped in blankets on the floor were left behind after the burglary was interrupted by the person who reported the incident.
The burglars could not been seen leaving the building in the video, and police said it's possible they exited through a rear door.
Numerous similar burglaries involving a man and woman stealing TVs and coffee makers from condominium buildings recently have been reported in the northwest suburbs, police said.
