Attorney Janet E. Dockstader of the firm Brandmeyer, Stanton & Dockstader (soon to be Brandmeyer, Gilligan & Dockstader) attributes her family law practice success to a compassionate and honest approach with clients. Judge Kenneth Black, a former presiding judge in the Los Angeles Superior Court Family Law Department, says that “Janet is a zealous advocate whose judgment and wisdom are beyond her years of experience–she generates a lot of light without a lot of heat.”

Dockstader has a reputation for successfully resolving high asset property issues, including determination of property characterization and property distribution. When a client who was divorcing her husband suggested that he might be keeping a safe at his office, Dockstader obtained an order to inventory the safe and personally went down to the man’s office to take stock of the funds. “You always have to be coming up with creative solutions to best advocate your client’s position,” she says.

Dockstader was named a Southern California Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2005 and one of America’s Most Influential Women by Sky Radio in 2006. At Brandmeyer, Stanton & Dockstader, her expertise is complimented by five other dedicated and experienced attorneys who work diligently to achieve results for their clients, whether through negotiating a favorable settlement or by striving to prevail in court.

The representation offered by the firm includes advice, strategy, negotiations, mediation, collaboration, OSC hearings, trial preparation and trials of family law related issues, including domestic violence.
