The Chieftains make music so timeless, they're still considered hip after 50 years together. The Irish folk band's new album, "Voice of Ages," pairs them with young whippersnappers including Pistol Annies, the Decemberists, the Punch Brothers and Bon Iver. There's no sense of generation gap. The collaborations sound sweet and natural. The Chieftains, led by Paddy Moloney, come to the Sandler Center in Virginia Beach 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 11. They'll celebrate the band's golden anniversary as well as the arrival of St. Patrick's Week. Tickets, $40-$75, are available through http://www.sandlercenter.org.
