Carrot Tree Kitchens has announced the closing of its Yorktown restaurant on Dec. 21.
Manager Glenn Helseth said the restaurant's current 10-year lease expires Dec. 31, and he has been unable to reach a satisfactory agreement with the National Park Service for a new one.
Carrot Tree operates out of the historic Cole Digges house, Yorktown's oldest residence built in 1720.
Upcoming events inlcude a Christmas in Virginia talk with Winette Sparkman Jeffery on Dec. 12 and Christmas Dinner with caroling and tree decorating on Dec. 13. Details are available by calling 757-988-1999 or online at www.carrottreekitchens.com.
The Yorktown location is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily and for dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.
