Chef Patrick Evans-Hylton will host a food tasting and book launch for his latest cookbook, “Dishing Up Virginia,” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at The Mariners’ Museum in Newport News.
Evans-Hylton will be on hand to sign copies of “Dishing Up Virginia: 145 Authentic Recipes From Colonial Times to Today,” which will be released this month by Storey Publishing.
The book covers the food and foodways of the various regions of Virginia, including Hampton Roads recipes that focus on ham, barbecue, peanuts and seafood.
The food tasting will feature a dozen or so selections from the cookbook prepared by area restaurants and caterers.
Evans-Hylton is food editor at Hampton Roads Magazine and Virginia Wine Lover magazine and a frequent guest on the “Hear/Say” public radio program on WHRV-FM (89.5).
