The doctor is in

Bob Newhart's talents as a stand-up comedian found a national audience with his Emmy-winning variety show airing in 1961. Americans grew to know his quiet humor as psychologist Bob Hartley in the 1970s sitcom, "The Bob Newhart Show," and as innkeeper Dick Loudon in the 1980s sitcom, "Newhart." He'll deliver many of his classic comedy sketches in a performance at 8 p.m. Friday, March 16, in the Ferguson Center for the Arts. Newhart will be joined by Deana Martin, daughter of Dean Martin, who will sing songs made famous by her father and Frank Sinatra. Tickets are $39-$69, available at the Ferguson box office, by calling 855-337-4849 or online at
