It's a terrible name, I think we can all agree. The music of Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., though, is much better than the name suggests. Today's free track, "Morning Thought," combines electronic buzz with sweet melody.
Joshua Epstein and Daniel Zott came together in 2009 with the goal, according to Allmusic.com, of creating ambitous, tuneful dance music. Last year, they released a first album for the Warner Bros. label. The record carried the title "It's a Corporate World."
Today's free track, previously made available through the Stereogum blog, is the first cut on that album.

By the way, even the band seems to acknowledge that its name is bad -- or at least silly. "Since you were willing to sign up for a newsletter from a band with a name as ridiculous as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., you deserve something special," reads the e-mail the band sends when the free track is requested.
Here's a recent press release about what the band's up to these days.
