Gloucester attorney Ken Gibson has announced he is seeking the Republican nomination for the 98th District seat being vacated by retiring Del. Harvey Morgan. Gibson is a former federal prosecutor and a former legal counsel for Virginia General Assembly committees.
Gibson joins Gloucester resident Sherwood Bowditch in seeking the Republican nomination for the 98th District, which encompasses Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex and Essex counties and parts of King and Queen and King William counties.
Gibson said his campaign will focus on promoting economic growth and fostering a low-tax, business-friendly environment; providing a top-quality education for the region's children; ensuring public safety and protecting families; protecting the area's unique quality of life, including green spaces and clean water; and defending traditional values, including the right to life and 2nd Amendment rights.
"I have spent my career making the law work for the people and keeping government focused on its core functions," Gibson said. "I champion people. I don't rest until I get the job done. I would consider it a tremendous honor to serve the wonderful citizens of the 98th District at the General Assembly in Richmond."Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
