Sheriff Darrell Warren said the audit was completed last month. Warren received notification via letter by the Board of Corrections that the jail was approved for unconditional certification based upon the compliance rating.
Warren lauded Capt. Robin Hogge and the jail staff for the results of the inspection. The auditors check everything to include paint, lighting, food, medical services, inmate files, shower and restroom facilities and other aspects of the jail and service, Warren said.
The jail is inspected every three years as part of the Gloucester Sheriff's Office accreditation process, Warren said.
