Gloucester employee named president of parks and rec society
Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department employee Katey Legg has been elected as president of the Virginia Recreation and Park Society.
Legg was elected president by the society's board of directors on Aug. 23, said a Gloucester County spokeswoman. Legg has been employed by Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Toursim since 2005 and is the department's recreation supervisor.
Legg is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and received a master's degree from Old Dominion University, previously working for parks and recreation departments in Hampton and James City County.
The Virginia Recreation and Park Society is a private, non-profit organization with a purpose of uniting professionals, students and interested people in the field of recreation, parks and other leisure services in Virginia into one body, according to the organization's website.
