Minister Rodrigous Robinson of the Richmond, Virginia GMWA Choir will host the “Andrew Shannon Gospel Music Celebration Day” during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Conference and Banquet at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013. The event will be held at the SpringHill Suites Hampton, 1997 Power Plant Parkway, Hampton, Virginia. Minister Robinson will preside as Host of an electrifying and energetic segment of inspirational gospel music; from traditional to urban contemporary gospel music. The Andrew Shannon Gospel Music Celebration Day in Hampton, Virginia will be packed with songs, praise and spirited affirmations to bring joy to the heart and celebratory excitement. The highlight will be performances by special guests the Richmond GMWA Choir and also feature Bishop Ray Bynum - Pastor, along with the Pentecostal Followers of Christ Church Choir.

The Southeast Community Day Planning Committee and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference cordially invites you to attend the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Conference and Banquet on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the SpringHill Suites located in the City of Hampton. The conference will feature diverse speakers in Employment, Health, Education, Business, Transportation, Housing, Economic Development and Community Services. The Conference will begin with a Symposium from 1 – 2:30 P.M., followed by a Community Forum from 3 – 4:30 P.M. with Moderator Tina L. Vick, Newport News City Council Member; the Andrew Shannon Gospel Music Celebration Hosted By Minister Rodrigous Robinson of the Richmond GMWA Choir at 5:00 P.M. and Social from 6– 6:45 P.M.
The event will culminate with a Banquet from 7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M.
Rev. William A. Keen, SCLC State President and Pastor of Traynham Grove Baptist Church in Halifax County, Virginia will be the Keynote Speaker.
Congressman Bobby Scott will provide remarks during the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Banquet at the SpringHill Suites Hampton on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.
The Andrew Shannon Gospel Music Celebration continues during the Banquet with entertainment provided by the Richmond, Virginia GMWA Choir and Pentecostal Followers of Christ.
