With the summer concert season in full swing, we're still learning about new local shows. Today's big news is that
Sade, the singer whose soft-and-sultry style represents an artful brand of mellow, is on tour with her band for the first time since 2001. Her album from last year, "Soldier of Love," was greeted as a welcome return.
It looks like Sade will end her tour in Norfolk, which should make this rare appearance even more special. On the other hand, Scope's often problematic acoustics could spell trouble for a performer who's music relies on subtlety and nuance.

The other show announced recently is from Virginia's own
Mraz hails from Mechanicsville, so his show at nTelos Pavilion at Harbor Center in Portsmouth Sept. 25 will be, in a sense, a homecoming.
Tickets to that concert also go on sale, Friday, July 22. According to Ticketmaster, tickets are priced $47.40 to $56.60.
