Josh Brittain scored the winning goal with 9:21 left in regulation Friday as the Norfolk Admirals (17-21-2-1) beat Bridgeport 2-1 before 4,575 at Scope.
Patrick Maroon netted the tying goal seven minutes into the final period and assisted on Brittain's winner, which gave the Admirals their second win in a row after they lost nine of 10 contests.
But Admirals goalie Frederik Andersen made 37 saves for the victory and was voted the game's No. 1 star. The Sound Tigers' Scott Campbell scored on him just 73 seconds into the contest, but Andersen made several key saves thereafter.
The Admirals pulled even with the Adirondack Phantoms in the race to avoid last place in the Eastern Conference.
