THE BUZZ: With eight of 11 starters back from last year's Group AA state semifinalist, Jamestown begins as district favorite and state title contender. William and Mary-bound state player of the year O'Brien (20 goals, 14 assists) makes everyone around him better. In Christein, Tabb returns one of the best defenders in the state. The Tigers high work rate perennially makes them one of the district's toughest teams. Few in the district control the pace of play as well as Brown (14 goals, 7 assists), who anchors an experienced crew at Grafton. Paul Sidhu returns as Grafton coach after earlier successful stints there and at York. If Silva stays healthy he'll have a talented front to distribute the ball to at Lafayette in Stephens and Rahim Costa-Dorsey. Kendal Pressey's return, after a year out, bolsters the Rams' defense and chances of district contention. York (10-4-3, 7-1-1) will, as always, be competitive.
