Lafayette’s Ben Colley and
Both set state records, Colley in the 100-yard backstroke and Antal in boys diving.
Colley edged Jacob Siar of Cave Spring, 50.07-50.45 to smash the previous record of 51.75, which was set by Lafayette's Matt Baumler in 2007.
Antar easily eclipsed the previous record, finishing with 426.20 points, nearly 15 more than runner-up
Colley also finished second in the 100 butterfly. He swam 50.26, just behind the 50.12 of Broad Run's Mark Sarman.
Lafayette's girls and Jamestown's boys both finished fourth, the highest team finish by a Bay Rivers school. Brentsville (235) edged Hidden Valley (217). Hidden Valley also finished second in girls, coming in just behind Western Albemarle 217-211.
In the boys competition, Tabb was seventh, Grafton 10th, Warhill 11th and Lafayette 12th. Tabb finished seventh among the girls, Jamestown was 10th and
Swimmers finishing second in their events included Logan Bissell of York in the boys 100 breastroke and Taylor Busching of Jamestown in the girls diving. Her score of 388.60 eclipsed the previous state record, but she finished second behind Leah Piemonte of Christiansburg (460.0)
Bryce Hartman of Grafton was third in the boys 50 freestyle. Also finishing third was Katie O'Conner of Tabb in the girls 100 freestyle.
