Few Bay Rivers District sports have been as successful as field hockey, with Tabb winning four of the past five A/AA state titles - and beating district rival Grafton in one of those final. The district's legacy of success will grow even more this year, with eight 2012 graduates moving on to the Division I collegiate level next year.
Four of the D-I commits come from Tabb: Hayley Mills (Lafayette), Macy Peebles Virginia), Alyson Harmatz (Kent State) and Hailey Vann (Georgetown). Grafton will send three - Kaylee Maunz (VCU), Julia Young (North Carolina) and Caroline Beaudoin (Stanford) - to the D-I ranks, while Jamestown's Jordan Chapman (Longwood) rounds out the list.
In addition, 2014 grad Taylor Omweg of Tabb has committed to play for Iowa.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
