Inside the BRD: Tabb 4x400 girls relay team is tops in state indoor track

As the indoor track and field postseason commences with Monday’s Bay Rivers District meet at the Boo Williams Sportsplex, Tabb is poised to challenge four a fourth consecutive 4x400 relay Group AA girls state title.

Their time of 3 minutes, 59.1 seconds is the best in the state this winter, regardless of classification, in part because two of the quartet, Brittni King and Micah Hanks, are the top two AA 300-meter runners in the state. Aly Harmatz and Taylor Omweg round out the successful foursome.

“It’s amazing,” Tabb coach Lucas Brown said of the Tigers' success in the event. “The girls take a lot of pride in the tradition and do everything to keep it going.”
