Tabb graduate Corey Patrick has added to the large list of Bay Rivers District baseball players to reach the Division I ranks in recent years.
Norfolk State University announced on Tuesday that Patrick is part of its 13-man 2013 recruiting class.
Patrick played this past season for
Patrick Henry Community College, batting .370 with 10 doubles, a triple, a home run, 24 RBI and seven stolen bases. Patrick, an outfielder, was an All-Bay Rivers District and All-Region I first team selection at Tabb as a senior, when he batted .393, hit seven home runs and stole 11 bases.
"Corey has the ability to cover a lot of ground in the outfield," Norfolk State coach Claudell Clark said in a release on the recruiting class. "He has also hit well at every level that he has played on, and led Patrick Henry in hitting this past season.
