Marcus Evans, who has led Great Bridge to its first state tournament appearance since 1958, was named the Eastern Region Player of the Year Tuesday night.
Evans, a junior, averaged 17.8 points a game during the regular season. He scored 22 points and had six assists in the Wildcats' 64-55 win over Kecoughtan in Monday's regional championship game.
The rest of the first team, which was selected by the coaches, was made up by Kecoughtan's Rodney Bullock, Hampton's Anthony Barber, Kellam's Ramone Snowden, Norcom's Malique Trent, and Nansemond River's Ed Drew.
Making the second team were King's Fork's Jacorey Smith, Norcom's James Whitaker, Churchland's Dre Demiel, Hampton's Jordan Baker, and Phoebus' James Daniel III.
Great Bridge's Gary Obenour was named Coach of the Year.
