Khadijah Berger has a mild sprain and bone bruise, but an MRI showed no structural damage in her right knee that will require surgery, her father, Corey, said Friday morning.
Berger has missed two games since the injury, which occurred in the fourth quarter of a win over Phoebus on Jan. 11. Corey Berger said his daughter probably will miss “the next couple of weeks,” which could be the rest of the regular season.
“The sooner she’s back, the better,” Corey Berger said. “But we don’t want to rush it.”
Berger, a junior guard, is the Peninsula District’s second-leading scorer at 19.9 points a game. She has five scholarship offers so far: Bethune-Cookman, Delaware, Marshall, Old Dominion and Virginia Tech.
