On tap Tuesday night in Peninsula District hoops:
GAME OF THE NIGHT:
Kecoughtan (12-2, 10-0) at Phoebus (7-5, 7-3). The Warriors keep on rolling behind F Rodney Bullock (21.5 ppg), the Mid-Season Player of the Year, and shooter Greg Alexander (16.9 ppg). Kecoughtan is also getting solid play from PG Marcell Haskett (7.7 ppg) and veterans Lawrence Williams (6.8) and Kaelin Poe (6.8). The Phantoms are coming off a stretch in which they played six games in nine days. G James Daniel III (20.0 ppg) keeps pouring in the points. Phoebus lost to Kecoughtan 65-59 on Dec. 7.
Bethel (7-7, 5-5) at Hampton (11-3, 9-1). The Bruins, who have lost two of their last three, were blown out by 22 at home to the Crabbers last month.
Menchville (6-7, 4-6) at
Denbigh (3-10, 2-8). The Patriots won the first game between these teams, but the Monarchs have won two of their last three.
Heritage (6-7, 4-6) at Gloucester (0-13, 0-10). The Hurricanes have won a season-high three consecutive games.
Woodside (8-5, 6-4) at Warwick (5-8, 3-7). The Raiders stunned the Wolverines back in December, but Woodside is a different team now.
GAME OF THE NIGHT
Bethel (8-5, 6-4) at Hampton (9-4, 8-2). The Crabbers needed a buzzer-beater by Khadijah Berger to win 51-50 on Dec. 7, but Berger (19.9 ppg) is not expected to play tonight with a knee injury. Hampton will utilize its size with 6-footers Dara Pearson (11.9 ppg), Mikayla Sayle (10.7), Geoquasha Brown (8.7) and Kanisha Bell (7.6). The Bruins are led by G Keli Foster (13.8 ppg) and F Britani Bryson (8.3).
Kecoughtan (13-1, 10-0) at Phoebus (7-4, 6-4). Led by C Chelsey Romero (16.2 ppg), the Warriors should cruise again.
Woodside (12-1, 8-1) at Warwick (6-7, 5-5). The Raiders getting better but are still no match for Adrienne Motley (26.9 ppg) and crew.
Heritage (3-11, 3-7) at Gloucester (6-8, 2-8). Don’t be stunned if the Dukes pull off the upset tonight.
