The good news for William and Mary: The Tribe played one of its best games of the season.
The bad news: W&M suffered its eighth loss in a row, dropping a 95-91 game Wednesday at Colonial Athletic Association-leading Northeastern (12-7, 7-0) despite Tim Rusthoven's 25 points and 11 rebounds.
The Tribe (7-11, 1-6) trailed almost throughout regulation, including 34-19 at halftime, but baskets by Rusthoven and Brandon Britt in the final minute forced a 68-68 regulation tie. The Huskies couldn't get off a shot to end the first overtime.
But in the second OT, Joel Smith — who had 29 points — and Jonathan Lee hit 3-pointers for Northeastern to offset Matt Rum's 3, and David Walker's dunk made it 93-85 with 28 seconds left.
