How the LPGA players feel about Kingsmill

These comments are taken from interviews with various players during the past few years at Kingsmill:

MICHELLE WIE: Well, I always love playing back here. It's a great tournament. The people are so nice here. It's a really well-run tournament. The course is in great condition. It's always a really fun week.

BRITTANY LINCICOME: This is an awesome tournament. The golf course is always in good shape. I hope it stops raining. I know how much hard work they put in this week to get the golf course ready, and it's heartbreaking for players to see how much rain it's taking in and how hard they are having to work on top of the hard work they have put in for the whole year to get it ready. it's a great place to be. It's a great little town. The fans love to see us come. We love coming and seeing the fireworks show and going to Busch Gardens, and the purse obviously is a huge factor for us to come. It's just the people; it's the town; everything about this tournament, I would never miss this tournament for anything.

KARRIE WEBB: If you polled the players, this would be their favorite regular events I think. We have a number of great events but this is definitely one of the top ones, from everything, from the course that we play to the way we are treated here; the community involvement, as well, is great. We get great crowds out here, and you really feel like the town is right behind the event, and I think that is important to us, as well.

CRISTIE KERR: I tried to tell them on TV, you need to come back ... because we need to have a tournament here. This would be a monumental loss for the LPGA if we lost the event here, in my opinion, for me anyways.

SUZANN PETTERSEN: This is one of my favorite courses. I think it's a favorite course of a lot of players out here, just the layout, how it sits. Like every hole is kind of -- it's different, it's a different challenge, great golf holes, great conditions and it's just one of those weeks where you really want to play well.

ANNIKA SORENSTAM: I enjoy this place for many reasons. It's a good golf course, good sponsor. It's a first class event and I think my game fits this golf course.
