Kecoughtan High graduate Morocco Brown, who grew up in Hampton and works for the Washington Redskins, will receive an interview for the Arizona Cardinals’ general-manager position this week, the Buffalo News’ Tim Graham reported.
Brown is in his fifth year as the Redskins’ director of pro personnel. He coordinates the advance scouting of opponents, participates in draft meetings and evaluates pro leagues for potential free agents and trade prospects. He was instrumental in the signings of key defenders Stephen Bowen and Barry Cofield, for example.
Brown is in is fifth year with Washington after spending seven seasons as assistant director of pro personnel for the Chicago Bears. Brown starred for Kecoughtan and twice received All-ACC honorable mention as a linebacker at N.C. State, from where he graduated in 1999.
Christopher Newport sophomore Jalon Brown was named the Virginia Sports Information Directors College Division Player of the Year.
Brown, a Grafton High graduate, was joined on the first team by fellow Captains Alex Faulkner and Sean Moriarty, as well as Gloucester High alumnus Corey Sindle of Randolph.
