In 2011, she ranked eighth in the world in the 100-meter hurdles, running a personal-best time of 12.76 seconds. In the triple jump, Lewis' personal record is 13.84 meters, which she set in 2008.
Her versatility is evidenced by her recent heptathlon competition in the U.S. Olympic Trials. She will join a staff that already had four assistant coaches under Pierce, who has made no secret of his desire to make HU consistently one of the nation's best track programs.
