Former Phoebus High School and University of Tennessee football player Brent Vinson has been arrested in conjunction with a 2009 murder in Knoxville, Tenn.

According to the website www.govolsxtra.com, Vinson is in jail in Lauderdale County, Ala., awaiting extradition to Tennessee.

The website said the warrants on Vinson are for tampering with evidence and accessory to murder after the fact.

"I'm stunned. I hate to hear about stuff like that with my ex-players," said Bill Dee, who coached Vinson at Phoebus.
