Franklin routs Northampton
Franklin totaled 384 yards on the ground Thursday and had no trouble dispatching Northampton 50-0 in both teams' football season opener. Isaiah Hudson carried the ball twice, gained 94 yards and scored on both carries to lead the host Broncos.
Donzell Shearin added an 89-yard touchdown run and Martinez Hill had 14 carries for 85 yards and two scores. Franklin led 24-0 after the first quarter, 32-0 at halftime and 50-0 by the end of the third quarter. The Yellow Jackets did not complete a pass, and Franklin's defense held Northampton to 85 yards on 35 carries. Tyler Childress led the Broncos with five tackles. Herbert Lane had 19 carries for 84 yards for the Yellow Jackets.
