Poquoson's best-ever team
Simply the best Some might give the 2004 team that reached the Division 3 state final the nod. But the 2003 Islanders, who lost a heartbreaking 35-33 state semifinal at Monticello, were probably better. Josh Zidenberg joined Tabb's Terry Kirby as only the second player from a BRD school to surpass 2,000 yards rushing in a season, romping for 2,702 yards and 39 TDs. The signature win was the 24-23 Region I final victory at York. The Islanders (10-3) won by driving 70 yards for the winning scores: Ryan Warner's 24-yard TD pass to Steve Phillips, followed by Zidenberg's two-point conversion.
