Coed blues-rock champions Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi will be heating up guitar fretboards in Norfolk this fall. The Tedeschi Trucks Band will play Chrysler Hall in Norfolk and tickets to the show go on sale 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27.
The show will take place Thursday, Oct. 18.
For fans of modern blues, this is exciting news. The Tedeschi Trucks Band has been presenting a fresh take on the style in recent years, winning over aficionados including Paul Shugrue, host of WHRV-FM's show "Out of the Box," who has been spinning tracks from the band's recent live album "Everybody's Talkin'."
"Where do you begin highlighting the total awe inspiring performances from Susan Tedeschi on lead vocal and electric guitar, she is simply beyond compare," he wrote. "But make no mistake. Each track exemplifies why Derek Trucks is bound for the rock and roll hall of fame. Not only has he reinvented the slide guitar, he is also a band leader par excellence."
