March 15 is the deadline to enter the For the Birds Birdhouse Competition and Exhibit at the
, according to a museum news release.
"For the Birds!" is the first of what we hope will be an annual signature art show that showcases local artists and their creative talent."
Ages 10 and up may enter birdhouses created and decorated primarily from recycled, repurposed and natural materials (no pre-form kits). Birdhouses should be delivered to the museum March 9-15. The entry fee is $10. Rules and information are at thevlm.org/birdhouse.aspx.
Winners will be named and prizes awarded on April 6. The top adult and student winner will receive a cash prize. Winning entries will be exhibited at the museum later this year. The competition is sponsored by the

Special activities will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are included in museum admission of $17 adults, $13 children (ages 3-12). Ages 2 and under and VLM members are free.
