What do you all think about the Savvy Shopper conference in the Bahamas? I think I might be able to bill that as a work event...
Vision Airlines will begin service from Richmond International Airport on Nov. 4, and the airline has lowered its prices on tickets to the Bahamas to $29 to introduce itself.
Travel must be between Nov. 4 and Dec. 19, and passengers must stay in the Bahamas three nights (Boo hoo). The cost of a hotel stay is not covered, of course.
My boss, Karen, is jumping for joy because she was the first to find this deal this morning. She even booked her flight before passing along the information to me.
That gives us the advantage of seeing the breakdown of the final bill -- taxes and fees add A LOT to that final price.
Airfare: $116 for two roundtrip tickets
Various fees: $191.16
Various taxes: $58.72
Total: $365.88 for two roundtrip tickets
I am assuming that if you purchased one ticket, those taxes and fees would be halved.
I did a quick comparison with other discount airlines from Richmond International Airway and the price was about $370 for one round-trip ticket.
Karen is even happier.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
