The Williamsburg Farmers Market will celebrate 10 years on Saturday, June 30.
A morning of special events will mark the anniversary. Here’s the schedule:
8 a.m. — Ceremonial bell ringing
8:15 a.m. — Unveiling of anniversary poster
8:30 to 11 a.m. — Anniversary cake and mini-cupcakes
9 to 11 a.m. — Music by blues performer Ron Fetner
9 to 11:30 a.m. — Chef's Tent cook-off
10 a.m. — J. Blaine Blayton Elementary skit, “How Does Your Garden Grow”
The cook-off will feature chef Chef Renny Parziale and members of the Virginia Chefs Association. Master Gardeners will demonstrate water stewardship with rain barrels and bins.
Attendees will draw for 10 gift certificates to area restaurants and businesses.
Those vendors celebrating 10 years with the farmers market are Amy Hicks and George Ferguson, Amy's Garden; Geri and Don Pratt, Aromas Coffeehouse; Sallie and Scott Mitchell, Bees 'n Blossoms; Betsy Guckeyson, Betsy's Baked Goods; Becky & Lawrence Latane, Blenheim Organic Gardens; Wally Vogel, Gifts of Nature; and Ramiro and Rosalva Medina Zamora, Zamoras Produce.
