— A developer is seeking protection for a suite of William Pereira-designed buildings in Echo Park — principally, it appears, to prevent the site from being developed by someone else.

— A historic Frida Kahlo canvas, which shows the artist astride the U.S.-Mexico border, will go on view in Philadelphia in the fall.
