‘I Am My Own Wife’ tells story of resistance and resilience

A 65-year-old transgender woman in Germany who suffered under the Nazi regime and then Communist rule and lived to tell the tale does so in “I Am My Own Wife.” John Tufts plays more than 40 roles in Doug Wright’s Tony- and Pulitzer-winning solo drama. All the city’s a stage with ‘PST: Live Art LA/LA’

Viva! Mexico’s Astrid Hadad, Peru’s Grupo Cultural Yuyachkani and L.A.’s own Raul Baltazar are among the myriad Latin American and Latino performance artists taking part in “The Pacific Standard Time Festival: Live Art LA/LA,” a city-spanning showcase curated by REDCAT. Lula Washington Dance Theatre remembers civil-rights icon

The dream remembered at CAAM

The California African American Museum marks the King holiday with family-friendly art activities, live music, panels and workshops, as well as a marathon reading of the slain civil-rights leader’s speeches and sermons.
