Overnight Kisses

Marcy K. Burns of Westminster submitted this super-easy take on meringue cookies with a little chocolate-chip surprise. Put them in the preheated oven, turn it off, and find these light and airy sweet treats waiting for you in the morning. <P><br>

Makes: About 3 dozen<P><br>
<br>
2 egg whites<P><br>
<br>
pinch of salt<P><br>
<br>
2/3 cup granulated sugar<P><br>
<br>
1 (6-ounce) package of miniature semisweet chocolate chips<P><br>
<br>
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat egg whites (with pinch of salt) to a very stiff peak. Add sugar 1 tablespoon at a time. Beat well after addition of sugar. Fold in chocolate chips. Drop 1 teaspoon, a small amount, onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Put into a preheated 350-degree oven. Turn oven off immediately. Leave in oven overnight. Do not peek. Enjoy.<P>
