This week's episode promised to change everything, and it delivered.
Many of us hoped Amanda would just disappear shortly after she arrived in the Hamptons last season ... and our wish might just have come true.
Unfortunately I was actually starting to like her this episode -- clearly whoever writes Nolan's one-liners took a shot at her lines and pumped in a few good ones ("looks like you've hooked your fish" being my personal favorite).
Even though last week introduced a few new story lines, the writers had to throw a couple more in this week to keep us on our toes.
While I truly feel for Nolan on the loss of his dad -- I cannot fathom the point of this story line, unless it was to bring he and Padma closer together (which was one of the more awkward first kisses I've seen since middle school, "can we try that again?" GOOD GOD NOLAN).
I'm happy to see Nolan have a new love interest and no longer be Emily's lap dog, but let's hope that is the end of the dad story line -- though the way Padma looks at the check at the end of the episode, I suspect we will be left with another new story line next week.
While on the topic of distracting storylines, ugh, Declan. Of course there was more to the rich kid klepto then meets the eye -- and now his brother is going to lose his bar. Great decisions, Declan. Also, please lose the thumb ring.
Ashley and Daniel always struck me as two of the prettier (read: not smart) characters on the show, but this week they seem to be really proving me wrong.
Ashley managing to play the Grayson men, and I am not sure whose side she is on, but we know she'll always choose whatever outcome gives her a better shot at Hampton's Queen Bee.
Daniel's Harvard education was highlighted this week with his late night at the office --and his super sleuthing! Maybe his is more than just a pretty face.
Apparently Emily's self defense skills are a family trait, which we realize when we watch her mom, Kara, in action. Unfortunately Emily also discovers the reason her mom was sent away was that she tried to drown Emily.
Next week we'll see if she still wants to make contact with her mother -- and where things are heading with Aiden.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
