I woke up this morning with one thought -- The night is finally here! Well, maybe not quite, but I know I don’t speak only for myself when I say that I’ve been waiting for this episode since it was first teased in the series opener. Whenever"Revenge" is discussed, at some point the question arises: “Do you think Daniel is really dead?!”
Now we know the answer: Nope! I think most knew it was unlikely that Daniel would actually be killed off the show, but we have also learned that nothing is predictable on "Revenge." Bringing Tyler back was a twist that I wouldn’t have guessed, though he did step on the floorboard and notice it was off when he was searching Emily’s house before Daniel’s birthday party. The fact that he remembered this and came back to see what was hidden seems a bit questionable, but it was interesting to see Emily thrown off her game. The entire episode she seemed (understandably) on edge, so much so that if it wouldn’t have ruined the show I hoped she would follow Nolan’s advice and get on the boat with Jack. Now that Mr. Takeda is working behind her back (with Nolan no less!) it seems that Emily will be on edge for quite some time. For once she does not know the story behind the mysterious body found.
Meanest grandfather ever: Grandpa Grayson: “When the Grayson name loses its value, so does the company.” His priorities are clearly in order, as are the folders he seemed to reference in every conversation he was having.
Young Victoria v. Emily: Though Victoria is correct in relating Emily to her younger self for marrying a Grayson for reasons other than love, she has to realize that Emily is definitely not in it for the money.
Best Party Planner Award: Ashley. How did she get everyone at that party (including univinted guests) to wear the same white tux?
Best Divorce Play: Victoria, cashing out her stocks in Grayson Global, then calling the S.E.C. to investigate. Well played!
Brief Reminder that this Show Involves High Schoolers: If Jack leaves, who is Declan’s guardian? He and Charlotte are applying to high schools, not colleges.
This episode left us with many questions, the biggest one being: Who killed Tyler?? Daniel and Amanda seem to be the two most likely suspects, but Mr. Takeda had something up his sleeve, and knew just the right time to catch Amanda on the street. Nolan and Mr. Takeda appear to be in on something together, but I can’t decide what it might be. I also noticed Amanda was not in any of the previews for the next episode. What has he done with her?
