After watching the scene between new real housewife
In case you missed it, on Sunday's episode Kenya Moore was invited by Cynthia Bailey to a be a judge at a casting call for JET magazine's Beauty of the Week. At the casting Kenya practically tore the girls apart throwing out rude comments after ruder comment. Cynthia's assistant Carlton stepped in to save the models telling Kenya that her comment was rude. Kenya then proceeded to call her security guard on Carlton ... WHAT!! Yes, we're still in shock about that.
We got in touch with Carlton for a quick Q&A to get his side of the incident.
How and when did you start working at The Bailey Agency School of Fashion?
I've worked at The Bailey Agency School of Fashion since the day we opened. It's amazing to look back and see how far we have come.
What has been your experience working with Cynthia? Does she allow her employees to be vocal and opinionated at work?
My experience working with Cynthia has been absolutely AMAZING. She encourages my growth and supports my personal endeavors. Cynthia is one of my biggest supporters and we are definitely like family. I’m very opinionated and she’s always open to my suggestions, like the time I told her it should be a rule that all models must wear heels higher than a kitten.
Had you met or had interactions with Kenya Moore prior to the incident at the JET beauty of the week casting?
Who? Kenya Moore? I had no previous interaction with Kenya prior to the incident at the casting for JET. I'm sure I would've been even more disappointed had I known her prior to that day.
What was your initial thought when you heard Kenya's remarks to the models?
My initial thought was "Who invited this lady to be a judge and why is she speaking in such a tone?" There was no reason for her to go in on the aspiring models. I can understand a constructive comment but to be delusional enough to think you are higher than someone else is reaching.
Are remarks like Kenya's normally acceptable at Bailey's?
Negative remarks are totally unacceptable in our work environment. We thrive on confidence and helping others become that which they aspire to be. Anyone who doesn’t follow those rules will see the outside of the door. I tell them, "You’re being disrespectful. Please GPS your home. Bye."
When Kenya called her security guard were you surprised? Do you think she even needs a security guard?
I honestly thought maybe he was her neighbor or something. I don’t think ANYONE who is unrecognizable should need a security guard. But if you’re scary, go for it. What happened that day should never happen at a casting. True industry professionals always give constructive criticism. Anyone who does the opposite is most likely bitter, thirsty, insecure, or all of the above. Possums never blossom.
How did Cynthia diffuse the situation? Do you wish she would have stepped in sooner?
Cynthia diffused the situation by calming everyone down and putting her foot down in a respectful way. I think her timing was great and she handled the situation with class.
What's your relationship like with Kenya Moore now?
